David B. Berkowitz, is managing principal and co-founder of Assurance Realty Group. David has a long history in real estate advisory, investment, brokerage, financing and development in the City of Newark. David’s experience in Newark spans over three decades, where he started in the mid 1980's at Prudential's Real Estate Investment Group. He went on to advising the City of Newark on economic and real estate development matters in the early 2000's; and working with a multitude of private, public and not-for-profit entities in the City in an effort to create value-add opportunities for his clients and the Newark community at large.
David has a deep and comprehensive understanding of the Newark marketplace and how to connect people and resources to navigate through even the most complicated deal structures. David is known for his creativity in bringing solutions that benefit all sides of a transaction.
David holds an MBA from Columbia University with a concentration in real estate and finance, and a BS from the State University of New York at Albany with a concentration in accounting and economics. He is a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson and Title Insurance Producer in the State of New Jersey.
Alan S. Wellman is the Broker of Record, Chief Operating Officer and co-founder of Assurance Realty Group LLC. Alan has worked in the Real Estate industry for more than 15 years and brings over 30 years of customer-focused business experience to the firm. He is responsible for the operations of the company, which includes Finance, Operations and Information Technology.
Alan has an entrepreneurial focus and his business acumen includes managing small and medium size businesses and solving complex business problems. Alan has managed a number of small businesses in various industries including acting as the Chief Operating Officer of Assurance Title Services, the Vice President of Operations of an internet software company, and the Manager of Customer Care at a computer hardware company.
He also has experience as a Process Improvement/Strategy Consultant at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and a Global Account Manager at AT&T.
Alan has a MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a BS from Babson College.

Jon A. Karnick began his real estate career at the firm of Alexander Summer, LLC in 1997. After several successful years, the firm became affiliated with CRESA Partners. Jon elevated himself to Vice President of CRESA Partners, focusing on national corporate services. In 2002, Jon joined Newmark Knight Frank as Director of the New Jersey office. In 2007, Jon played an essential role in the formation of Assurance Group, LLC, providing the highest level of service to local and corporate clients.
Jon is an office and industrial specialist focusing on delivering brokerage and advisory services for his clients. Using strategic planning through administrative services, Jon is able to provide a local and national basis for both office and industrial clients with an entrepreneurial perspective.
Jon A. Andy Parella has been a real estate professional for over 20 years. He is an expert in representing Landlords with leasing and marketing in both office and industrial properties. Additionally, Andy has extensive experience representing tenants seeking both office and industrial spaces. Prior to joining Assurance Realty Group, Andy worked at CBRE and Cushman and Wakefield. He also worked for the M. Alfieri Co. where he was the Director of Leasing. He was responsible for leasing a 10.2 million square foot portfolio including 2.2 million square feet of Class A office space and 8 million square feet of development projects for office, warehouse, hotel and residential within Northern and Central New Jersey and Palm Beach County, Florida. He was also responsible for corporate banking relations, mortgage financing, and acquisitionsand dispositions. Andy has also spent 10 years in commercial banking for National Westminster Bank PLC.
